Julie has been dancing since the age of 3 at Belinda’s Dance Studio. She has been trained in tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, lyrical and acrobatics. In 1992 at the age of 6, she competed on Star Search with 4 other dancers in a dance group called “Too Cute For You”, going on to win the title of Junior Dance Champions. The group went on to performing at NBA basketball game halftime shows and made special guest appearances. Julie has continued to dance and compete in numerous competitions through the years and owes all of her knowledge of dance to the talented teachers she learned from, including Miss B! For 13 years, Julie danced at the Disneyland Resort where she performed in numerous parades and shows including Parade of the Stars, Disney’s Electrical Parade, Block Party Bash, A Christmas Fantasy Parade, Parade of Dreams and Fantasmic. During those years, Julie has choreographed for Flashback, a charity show at the Disneyland Resort, raising thousands of dollars for local charities in the Orange County area. She also had the opportunity to teach dance to lower income kids in Orange County through an organization called “The Wooden Floor”. Julie is honored to travel the US as a judge for Kids Artistic Review and Rainbow Dance Competitions where she gets inspiration from dancers all around the country. Julie has been teaching for the past 11 years at B’s Dance Place and now Downey Dance Center where she also has a role as Artistic Director. She is proud to call Downey Dance Center her home and is excited to share her love for dance with others! Her passion in life is not only dance, but also bringing the joy and excitement of performing to her students in hopes of inspiring them to follow their dreams.
